Chief Instructor Salvatore Forestieri Sensei

Salvatore Forestieri Sensei, Shidoin or Certified Instructor awarded by the Aikido Association of America currently teaches the traditional Japanese arts of Aikido and Kenjutsu. He currently holds rank of Sandan in Aikido, and shodan in Ryu Sei Ken Batto-Do.

Forestieri Sensei has been involved in the martial arts since a very young age and has nearly 30 years experience. He started training in the early 1970s and then professionally in the early 1980s. In addition to the traditional Japanese arts, Forestieri Sensei also holds the rank of yondan in Hapkido, a sister art to Aikido, in addition to training in other martial arts such as Karate-do, Judo, Kumdo, Iaido, Savate, wrestling and competitive boxing.

Forestieri Sensei has traveled to Japan on numerous occasion for training and has had opportunity to train with many well known Master Level Shihan. Forestieri Sensei has recently retired from the Public Sector after 26 years and is now pursuing his passion as a professional Japanese martial arts instructor, and continues his martial studies. Forestieri Sensei believes we must always stive for a higher level of understanding and knowledge, adhere and become the teachings.

Assistant Instructor Shawn Kranig

Shawn Kranig is an Assistant Instructor and has been training in Aikido at Shinjitsu Dojo for nearly 6  years. Shawn’s training also includes Instructor development and holds the rank of Shodan.
